Golden Steps


    Upon this ceremonial new day,
    the generations of clouds move their chairs
    above, to temporarily make way
    for sun’s first golden steps, ascending stairs.

    And while she toddles higher, getting a
    much better view, our gleaming world becomes
    the newest toy to hold her attention.
    And being spun a few times, it succumbs.
